Red Queen is a one-of-a-kind paper mache sculpture.

“Queen of Nonsense with Rabbit and Cat” is a narrative sculpture about a ruler who is made entirely of words. Fragments of vintage book pages turn into her skin, dress and crown, as if language itself has become a fragile armour.

On her shoulder rests a watchful cat, on the other side – a melancholic rabbit marked with a tiny playing card symbol. They look like guides between different stories, keepers of secrets that the Queen herself can barely control. The heart around her eye is both a mask and a wound: a reminder that every tale about power and madness is also a story about vulnerability.

This piece belongs to my ongoing world of literary, fairytale-inspired characters. It is not an illustration of a specific scene, but a personal reimagining of the “queen” archetype – caught somewhere between children’s nonsense, inner monologue and contemporary surrealism.

This sculpture is ready to display on a shelf or pedestal.
