Pocket Witch Art Doll No. 1 is a one-of-a-kind handmade textile witch doll from the Wookawoo Creatures collection by Varvara Kurakina
She smells faintly of lavender, autumn leaves, old books, and stories that may or may not be true.
This small textile witch is sewn from cotton fabric, filled with soft cotton wadding and a little dried lavender, then aged by hand with tea staining, acrylic paint, oil paint, embroidery and thread details. Her wool hair, stitched clothing and quiet expression give her the feeling of a small object that has already lived through several mysterious autumns.
A neatly finished loop on the back allows her to be displayed on a wall, beside a desk, between old pictures, or among other curious and treasured things. She is not a toy, but a collectible textile art doll for people who love folklore, soft sculpture, handmade characters and gentle strangeness.
A Pocket-Sized Story
Not every witch lives in a crooked house at the edge of a forest.
Some prefer smaller places: a narrow space between books, a hook beside an old picture, or the quiet corner of a room where forgotten things gather.
Pocket witches are keepers of minor mysteries. They remember where the missing button went, which story was left unfinished, and why the room sometimes smells of autumn leaves even when all the windows are closed.
This one carries a little lavender inside her and several stories she has so far declined to explain.
