Original Watercolor Painting – “Voices in Flight”

Voices in Flight is an original contemporary watercolor painting by Varvara Kurakina, created in 2025 for Depiano Art as part of the Folk Tales series.

A dense gathering of faces fills the lower part of the composition, while raised hands, wings, and bird-like silhouettes move through the space above them. Human gestures gradually become flight, and individual figures merge into a shared, shifting presence.

Layered washes of violet, indigo, blue, muted rose, rust, and warm ochre create a sense of movement without forming a literal narrative. The work explores collective memory, unspoken emotion, and the fragile connection between individual voices and the larger group.

The intimate format encourages close viewing. Transparent washes, granulation, spontaneous edges, and overlapping forms remain visible throughout the surface, allowing the watercolor process to become part of the image itself.

Returns

You may return the artwork within 14 days of delivery. Please contact me before sending it back.

The artwork must be returned in its original condition and protective packaging. The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs unless the artwork arrived damaged or the wrong item was sent.

If your order arrives damaged, please contact me as soon as possible and include photographs of the artwork and packaging so that I can arrange a suitable solution.
